Listening to the recorded message involves a couple of simple steps. First, the recipient will enter the serial number included in the gift into the Heart Knife smartphone app. Then, they will take a picture of the sound waves engraved on their Heart Knife.
The serial number is noted on the magnet that comes with the Heart Knife. This magnet also records the sender and recipient's names, the date of order, some information about the parts that were chosen to complete the unique Heart Knife. The magnet can be attached to the fridge for ease of access.
